Fabrizio Romano has told Anfield Watch that Liverpool are facing a huge problem in regard to potentially signing Kingsley Coman.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that Bayern Munich’s asking price is an issue for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Bayern are asking for €90 million (£77.10m), according to Romano, who claims that this is a sticking point.

Sport1 reported last month that Liverpool have made contact with the management of the 25-year-old winger.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Romano told Anfield Watch: “The price tag [of Coman] is a huge problem. Bayern are asking for around €90m (£77.10m) which is a lot of money and the player is asking for a top salary.

“You’re not losing Salah or Mane either so signing a player for €80m (£68.53) or €90m (£77.10m),and giving him a crazy salary of over €10m (£8.57m) net per season for him to not be a guaranteed starter for every match; it’s not in Liverpool’s style for the market at the moment.”

Should Liverpool pay the money?

Coman is a household name in the world of football and is a serial winner.

The winger has won a league title every season since 2013 and can also play in central midfield.

Injuries have been an issue for the former Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus star.

However, Coman is still only 25.

There is every reason to believe that, if injury-free, the France international could go onto become an ever better player.

The winger scores goals, creates chances, works hard for his team, and is quick.

Coman said on Bundesliga.com in February 2020 that he is “pretty much the same” over 15-20 metres as his international teammate and PSG striker Kylian Mbappe regarding speed.

The former PSG star made 23 starts and six substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern last season.

Coman scored five goals and gave 10 assists in those games.

The Bayern no.29 also scored three goals and gave two assists in seven Champions League appearances.
