Celtic are close to getting a major injury boost.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon confirmed on Wednesday that James Forrest would be returning to training next week.

Forrest has been a massive player for Celtic in recent years, but the influential winger has been sidelined for the best part of four months with injury.

But it looks like he’s closing in on a return and here’s how some fans of the Parkhead club reacted to the boost on Twitter.

The big question is, is it too late for Celtic?

Rangers have a 23-point lead over Lennon’s side in the Scottish Premiership and although the latter have two games in hand, it does certainly seem like the title is going to Ibrox.

Forrest, as mentioned, has been a huge asset for the reigning champions, but it takes a major imagination to envisage his return being enough to see Celtic fight their way back into this race.
