Kilmarnock boss was irate after the loss to Rangers.

Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Kilmarnock at Ibrox Stadium on March 17, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Steve Clarke has hit back hard at Rangers fans, stating abuse he received as unacceptable.

Clarke’s Kilmarnock were hammered 5-0 at Ibrox last night in the Scottish Cup.

Clarke alleges received sectarian abuse and let rip in his post game press conference.

In comments published by Kilmarnock’s official website, Clarke hit out at the Rangers crowd.

He also admitted holding negotiations with Rangers previously to be manager, in which he expressed reservations about the support.

Clarke said: “”It’s nice being back in the west of Scotland – really nice. When I was approached by Rangers about taking over the job here I was assured, nah, we didn’t have that in the west of Scotland anymore and it had gone. Hahaha.

“They can call me a b****** or w***** but to call me a Fenian b******? Come on.

“We’re living in the dark ages. They’re not allowed to call my assistant a black b but they can call me a Fenian b******. Is that correct? What are we doing in Scotland

“I wake up every morning and I thank Chelsea for taking me away from the West. My children have nothing to do this with this thankfully. My children and grandchildren.

“It’s fantastic to be back in Scotland.”

Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke looks on during the Scottish Ladbrokes Premiership match between Kilmarnock and Celtic at Rugby Park on February 17, 2019 in Kilmarnock, Scotland.

Clarke’s comments will shine a light on a controversial subject which authorities have tried to nullify.

It also suggests that he would not be willing to manage Rangers’ rivals Celtic in the future as he could find it too much.

Rangers offered an official response to Clarke’s comments.

The Scottish Sun reported: “Rangers Football Club wishes to make it clear unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated at Ibrox.

“Everything possible will continue to be done to eradicate this kind of behaviour.”
