Kilmarnock loanee Sean Longstaff has admitted that he was impressed by Rangers’ performances in the last two Old Firm games and suggested that the Gers deserved more from both contests, The Scottish Sun reports.

The Gers’ last two meetings with their bitter rivals Celtic took place in December and then in Graeme Murty’s final game in charge before Pedro Caixinha’s recent appointment.

And while they did not win either, they certainly put up a brave fight in both, narrowly losing the December clash before a late goal saw them earn a 1-1 draw at Parkhead last month.

And ahead of the Light Blues’ trip to Rugby Park to face Killie on Wednesday, Longstaff has suggested that neither result was fair on Rangers.

“I have watched Rangers in the last two derbies. I thought they were really good and they deserved a bit more from both games,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

“Rangers have got a lot of experience and good quality players, so it will be a really good test for us as a side on Wednesday.”

While Longstaff feels that Rangers were hard done by against the newly crowned champions, Caixinha will know that his side need to avoid any complacency as Longstaff and Killie have been difficult to beat lately, having not lost in their last three.

And with the Newcastle loanee scoring twice and contributing two assists in nine games since moving from St James’ Park, he may perhaps be one of the players that Caixinha is warning his squad about.
