Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has expressed his joy at finally playing again for Marcelo Bielsa’s side last night.
Marcelo Bielsa sparked controversy at Leeds by dropping Illan Meslier and putting Casilla in net on the south coast.
His decision, on a results basis, was vindicated – as Casilla put in a fairly solid display, as Leeds won 2-0.
Although the Spaniard did have some nervy moments under crosses, he pulled off some eye catching stops, as he kept a clean-sheet.
And Casilla was delighted to be back on the pitch again after so long on the sidelines.
Casilla was praised by Liam Cooper, who wrote ‘well played brother’ under the post.
Cooper was also back in Leeds’ starting line-up yesterday in the heart of their defence.
Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon, Liverpool’s Adrian and Barry Douglas also praised the Leeds man in the comments.
Casilla will actually play again for Leeds at the weekend, Bielsa has confirmed, but that may well be his farewell appearance before he leaves Elland Road in the summer.
