Newcastle United will face West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Kieron Dyer predicted on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (February 5) that Newcastle United will win against West Bromwich Albion today.
The Magpies will take on West Brom at St. James’ Park in the Premier League this afternoon.
Former Newcastle midfielder Dyer has backed Steve McClaren’s side to pick up all three points from the encounter, but he has warned that it will not be easy.
“I think Newcastle will win, but it’s a horrible team to play when confidence is low,” said Dyer on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (February 5). “West Brom will sit in there, and the fans will get frustrated if Newcastle don’t get an early goal.”
Playing at home today will give Newcastle an advantage, but the Magpies have not been in great form recently.
McClaren’s side will head into the match against West Brom on the back of a 3-0 defeat to Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the Premier League.
Newcastle are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season, and they have to win today in order to ease pressure on themselves.
As Dyer suggests, West Brom will make it tough for the Magpies, and Tony Pulis’s side could well set out to play for a draw.
