The Tottenham Hotspur man could’ve done without making a mistake, amid links to the Wolverhampton Wanderers star.

If there’s one fanbase more frustrated by Kieran Trippier’s mistake yesterday than Tottenham Hotspur fans, it’s probably Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters.
The Tottenham right-back was largely to blame, having conceded possession moments before Manchester United scored what proved the winning goal at Wembley.
It was a horrible time for Trippier to make an error in light of speculation that Spurs are interested in Wolves right-back Matt Doherty [The Irish Independent].
The Molineux faithful would hate to lose the Irishman after what’s been a brilliant first season in the Premier League, but if there’s any truth to that rumour then Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy must be a bit more serious about signing Doherty now than before kickoff.
It was the latest in a long line of silly errors from the England international who, despite a stunning World Cup campaign, has looked a different player this season for all the wrong reasons.
In contrast, the Irish right-back has been reliable as anything for Wolves over the past six months and you have to wonder whether the Tottenham hierarchy might press ahead with trying to sign him.
Yesterday’s mistake might’ve been the final straw from a Spurs perspective and Wolves fans won’t be thanking him if it’s the catalyst for Doherty moving to North London.
