It was reported by the British tabloid that the Toffees are planning to make a £12 million bid for the 26-year-old defender.
Leaving Premier League title challengers Tottenham for an Everton side that are unlikely to end up in the top six this season would be a step down, but the right-back should jump at the chance of making the switch.
The former Burnley defender has been at Spurs since 2015, but he is the second-choice right-back.
When Kyle Walker is fit, he plays. Given the development of the England international right-back under manager Mauricio Pochettino, it does not look likely that he will lose form anytime soon.
This means that Trippier is going to play second fiddle to Walker in the forseeable future. Would the former Manchester City prospect be happy sitting on the substitutes’ bench most of the time?
The 26-year-old is a good player, and he has a lot to offer. With Seamus Coleman out injured, Everton could do with someone like Trippier.
The Toffees are an ambitious club and are aiming to break into the top four in the Premier League in the coming years. Trippier should be looking to be part of Everton’s grand plans.
