Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier have been in competition with each other to be Tottenham Hotspur’s right-back this season.

Trippier and Aurier are in direct competition with each other for a place in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up.
The pair have been battling it out for the right-back berth at Spurs, and it is still not entirely clear who Pochettino’s first choice is.
Aurier and Trippier have both been rotated in and out of Spurs’ starting line-up this term.

However, Trippier is set to get the nod against Juventus on Wednesday evening, as Aurier is suspended.
And the former Burnley man insists that Aurier has been nothing but encouraging towards him.
“Walks and I had different abilities, and it’s the same with Serge,” he says. “If he plays or I play, like it was when Walks was here, we’re always encouraging each other.
“I played last week [against Rochdale] and Serge was in the [Whatsapp] group messaging me good luck, and that’s how it is really.”

Tottenham’s match against Juventus tomorrow ranks as one of their biggest in recent memory.
Spurs go into the tie with a slender advantage, after picking up a very credible 2-2 draw in Italy.
Tottenham go into the match on the back of a 17 game unbeaten streak, which should give them plenty of confidence of being successful.
