The Tottenham Hotspur full-back shone in their most recent outing.
Kieran Trippier has had to wait patiently for his chances at Tottenham Hotspur, with fellow right-back Kyle Walker the undisputed number one at White Hart Lane.
Such was the 26-year-old’s struggle for minutes in the Premier League that it would be no surprise if he was considering his future. However, he seized his chance against Watford, putting in a superb display down the right wing in what was his first league start of the campaign.

Two assists in a 4-1 victory was the headline statistic, but Trippier was brilliant throughout, ending the game with 106 touches and 13 ball recoveries (the most of any Spurs player on the day).
The Tottenham man also won six duels, played 29 forward passes and ensured he was not dispossessed all afternoon.
| Passing Accuracy | Goal Assists | Duels Won | Dispossessed | Ball Recoveries | Tackles Won | Touches | Forward Pass | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kieran Trippier | 74% | 2 | 6 | 0 | 13 | 3 | 106 | 29 | 1 | 90 |
In short, Trippier did everything asked of him and Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has a big decision to make for the games yet to come.
Walker’s suspension against Watford gave Trippier a chance he was never going to waste, and on this evidence he fully deserves another run out sooner rather than later.

The question is: Has the former Burnley man done enough to convince Pochettino to make a surprise selection for the vital clash with Chelsea?
It would be a bold move with Walker available, but Trippier showed against the Hornets that he is desperate to make up for lost time and Chelsea would do well to handle him in this form.
