Tottenham ace Kieran Trippier spoke about Heung-Min Son’s huge influence in recent weeks, during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM programme this morning.

The South Korean has played in three separate international tournaments since the summer, yet he continues to play with a certain kind of energy and enthusiasm that many other players at Spurs can only aspire to.

Son has been vital for Tottenham during the last few weeks, with both Harry Kane and Dele Alli missing through injury, and his stats for the season make for impressive reading, with 16 goals and nine assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.

Trippier was speaking about Spurs’ recent resurgence during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM programme this morning, and responded when asked what has been behind their fine recent form:

“If you look at Son, he’s played in three major tournaments this season and he still looks fresh. He’s come back and scored goals and topped it off with the result the other night which was amazing.”

Tottenham have a real chance of ending their 11-year wait for a major trophy this season, but in order to do just that, Son will have to maintain his excellent form between now and May.

Next up for Spurs is back-to-back away games against Burnley and Chelsea in the Premier League, before they play host to Arsenal, And then it’s Borussia Dortmund away for the second-leg of their Champions League tie.

So the next few weeks really will be a defining period of Tottenham’s season.
