Tottenham Hotspur unveil the signing of Kieran Trippier

Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier has jokingly told the club’s official website that he almost went into the Burnley dressing room on Saturday afternoon.

Trippier featured for Tottenham in the Premier League game against the Clarets away from home at Turf Moor.

The 26-year-old right-back started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Spurs won 2-0.

The former England Under-21 international starred for Burnley from 2011 until 2015 (initially on loan from Manchester City) before switching to Tottenham.

Trippier has jokingly stated that he almost walked into the Burnley dressing room on his return to his former club.

“Burnley did a lot for me so I was excited when I found out I was starting,” Trippier told Tottenham’s official website. “Of course, I just wanted to get the three points.

“I almost walked into the home dressing room… no, only joking! It was strange but I’m a Spurs player and my mind was set on getting the three points.”

Trippier is a good right-back, but the form and performances of Kyle Walker mean that he is a back-up at Tottenham at the moment.

Interestingly, the Englishman has been linked with a move to Everton. According to The Sun, the Toffees are planning to make a £12 million bid for the right-back in the summer transfer window as they need someone to replace the injured Seamus Coleman, who could be out of action for at least a year with a double break in his leg.
