Kieran Trippier joined Atletico Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

The England international right-back moved to Spanish club Atletico Madrid from Premier League outfit Tottenham in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £20 million.
The 28-year-old, who can also operate as a right wing-back, has said that he spoke to Alderweireld and Llorente before he made the move to Atletico.
Belgium international central defender Alderweireld joined Tottenham from Atletico in the summer of 2020, while Llorente left Spurs at the end of last season when his contract with the North London outfit ran out.
Football.London quotes Trippier as saying: “I spoke to Toby Alderweireld because he was here for one year and Fernando Llorente as well.
“They said nothing but good things about Atletico and Spain. They both thought the tempo and the style of the league would really suit me.”

Mistake from Tottenham Hotspur?
Trippier was an important player for Tottenham during his time at the North London outfit, and perhaps the Premier League club were too hasty in letting him leave.
The England international has started life at Atletico strongly, providing one assist in three La Liga appearances this season, according to WhoScored.
