Eric Dier has been a mainstay under Mauricio Pochettino of late.

Dier, 24, has started 95 of Spurs last 105 Premier League matches, as his improved performances make him more and more important in Mauricio Pochettino’s side. Now, he is a regular part of the furniture under the Argentinian.
It is a long way from being signed as a rookie from Sporting Lisbon, and starting out on the right side of defence before being used as a centre-back. But his consistency is testament to his hard work.

That is according to Trippier, who not only applauded the midfielder’s consistency, but the way in which Dier looks after himself in order to make himself available and fit to play whether that be at club or national team level.
“That consistency shows how professional Eric is, especially playing at this level,” Trippier said. “To play that amount of games you need to look after yourself and I see that every day with Eric. He’s a top professional and of course he’s a quality footballer as well.
“He’s still at such a young age as well and to have captained England already says it all. I’m really happy to have met him and to have played alongside him.”

Throughout the 2017-18 campaign, Dier made a total of 46 league and cup appearances for Spurs and is now set to play alongside Trippier for England at the World Cup. Both are in contention to start against Tunisia on Monday.
Following Monday’s opener, England will then face Panama on the 24th of June, before facing main Group G rivals Belgium on June 28.
