Celtic defender Kieran Tierney has reportedly been attracting interest from Premier League side Arsenal.

It could be argued that Celtic’s Kieran Tierney is arguably the most talented player at the club, and perhaps in Scotland when he is performing at his absolute best.

Not many Bhoys supporters would be surprised to see that there is interest in Tierney’s signature this summer, with English Premier League side Arsenal a potential destination for the highly-rated defender.

The Daily Mail have claimed that Arsenal will step-up their interest for the left-back as Unai Emery searches for a top-class player to operate on the left side of defence ahead of the new campaign.

A player of Tierney’s quality would be able to fill that void for a Premier League team, and for a team in Europe, both of which the Gunners are currently in.

But if Tierney does decide to make the switch from Celtic to Arsenal then he would be going backwards in his career because the Emirates Stadium hasn’t exactly been a place for youngsters to grow their game in recent years.

The likes of Callum Chambers, Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding to name a few haven’t been able to take their game to the next level despite promising starts to their careers at the North London outfit.

The same could happen to Tierney if he makes the switch, not because the club is not capable of producing the goods, but because whoever is in charge then they are fighting a losing cause given the incompetence and lack of ambition from Arsenal’s owners.

All of that has stemmed onto the field of play and Arsenal have been in decline for a very long time now. The biggest concern is that there doesn’t seem to be a stop and the last thing a player of Tierney’s quality wants to do is jump on that seemingly sinking ship.
