Celtic defender Kieran Tierney and Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson are part of the current Scotland national football team.
Both Tierney and Robertson operate as left-backs and are two of the best young players in the current Scotland squad.
The 20-year-old and the 23-year-old are part of Gordon Strachan’s squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Slovakia.
Tierney, though, could be deployed as a right-back against Slovakia at Hampden Park.
The Celtic youngster has revealed the conversation he has had with former Queen’s Park and Dundee United left-back Robertson, who joined Liverpool from Hull City in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £8 million.
“I’m still trying to do well in my own position, never mind flip over to the other side,” Tierney told The Daily Record. “I’m not exactly known for my right foot.
“It’s difficult but the manager has faith in me. He has played me there in some big games so far and the team are on a good run.
“If I’m asked to play there I’m happy to do it. But I’ve asked Andy if he fancies swapping. I’ve said to him: ‘Is it not your turn?’
“But the manager likes him at left-back and he’s a great player. Andy is playing in the Premier League at a top club. So I’ll just play where I’m told to.”
Tierney is one of the best young left-backs in Europe and has been in great form this season.
The Scotland international has already shown his versatility as a central defender, and he could do a very good job as a right-back as well.
