If Kieran Tierney swaps Celtic for Napoli, he might face a former team-mate in Italy.

Napoli are the latest team to register an interest in Celtic’s Kieran Tierney it seems.
The Italian giants are plotting a ‘major swoop’ for the 22-year-old Scottish defender soon, according to The Scottish Sun.
Arsenal are the other club very much linked to the Celtic left-back and you’d think that he might favour a move to England over the unfamiliarity of going to Naples.
Then again, one of his fellow Lennoxtown graduates is showing what’s possible in Italy at the moment.
Should Tierney join Carlo Ancelotti’s side, he could potentially come up against a certain Liam Henderson, who helped Hellas Verona win promotion into Serie A last season.
The 23-year-old midfielder was sold to Serie B side Bari in January of 2018, but his seamless transition to life in Italy resulted in a move to Verona six months later.
Henderson wasn’t a big player at Celtic, hence why then-manager Brendan Rodgers sold him. Tierney, on the other hand, is one of the Hoops’ best players and you wonder if he would have a reduced fear factor over moving to Italy on account of his former team-mate’s success, albeit it in a different division for now.
It would require a big bit of bravery on Tierney’s part, but it’s worth remembering that he’d be playing under a three-time Champions League winning coach in Ancelotti, who’d take him to the next level surely.
