Kieran Tierney has told Football Scotland that Greg Taylor has been one of Celtic’s best players this season and paid tribute to the left-back’s “brilliant attitude” – as the Scotland international continues to shine under Ange Postecoglou.
Still only 24, Taylor is now in his fourth season at Celtic having joined the club from Premiership side Kilmarnock in 2019. Despite that, he has only played 93 times for the Hoops in all competitions. But now, he is first choice on the left.
Taylor only managed to play 54 times for Celtic in his first two seasons. But last season, he was first choice – clocking up 35 appearances. That is, despite a spell of more than two months on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.
This time around, Taylor has started all nine of Celtic’s outings – league, and Champions League. The inverted full-back style that Postecoglou implements is suiting the eight-time Scotland star. Tierney raved about the Celtic man’s form.

“It’s great to watch him. He’s been one of Celtic’s best players this season. Greg just keeps working hard, his attitude is brilliant. I’m delighted to see him doing so well. He’s a great guy who deserves all the credit that he’s getting just now.”
Tierney: Taylor has been one of Celtic’s best players this season
Tierney is bang on. £8.2k-a-week Taylor has been superb so far, up there with the likes of Liel Abada, Jota, Callum McGregor and Joe Hart in terms of form. Celtic as a whole have been excellent – despite their loss to Dundee United.
They sit top of the Premiership, and even impressed during a 3-0 loss to Real Madrid. Taylor’s side could easily have taken the lead with the score at 0-0, hitting the post and having numerous other chances. But it must continue.
Rangers, albeit off the pace as of yet, are still only two points behind the Hoops in the league. However, with the likes of Taylor and numerous others on song, it looks as if Celtic will stroll to a second successive Premiership title.
