Nottingham Forest brought the Everton teenager on loan – and he looks a fantastic addition.
Barrie McKay will take the headlines, after marking his debut with the winning goal as Nottingham Forest beat Millwall 1-0 at the City Ground on Friday night.
But Kieran Dowell produced a cameo which prompted the belief that he could be a hugely exciting player for Nottingham Forest this season.

Some Everton fans were disappointed to see the 19-year-old leave – even if it’s only on loan – and you can see why those on Merseyside would’ve preferred to keep him.
The midfielder replaced Shaun Williams and looked exceptional in his 31-minute spell, oozing the sort of class that makes you think he could well be a big player for Warburton this season.
At just £500,000, McKay, who joined from Rangers, already looks to be a bargain but Dowell might well be Nottingham Forest’s best transfer of the summer.
Early days, of course, but Forest fans should be very excited about what they saw from the Everton man.
