Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after Fabrizio Romano reported that Arsenal are set to loan Pablo Mari to Udinese.

Why do Tottenham fans care?

So, why do Spurs fans care about Mari being loaned out by Arsenal? He’s a fringe player at the Emirates and he most likely won’t be missed.

However, this story comes just days after Arsenal had the north London derby postponed due to a lack of availability within their squad.

For Spurs fans, this just doesn’t add up. How can you loan out another player when you’re having to cancel matches due to a lack of depth within your squad?

To be honest, we can absolutely understand where Spurs fans are coming from. The Gunners shouldn’t be able to trim their squad even further if they’re unable to fulfil their current fixture list.

Change the rules

Spurs fans may be pointing all of their anger towards Arsenal, but perhaps they should save their fury for the Premier League’s rule-makers.

Arsenal, as annoying as it is, had every right to ask for a postponement, and while the Gunners may not have acted sportingly, if there’s a loophole to be exploited, why wouldn’t you do it?

Mari could have played against Spurs at the weekend, but instead, Arsenal postponed the game and now the Spaniard is going to be loaned out, presumably, leaving the Gunners with a wafer-thin squad.
