Simon Jordan has told TalkSPORT (Thursday, 10.15AM) that Rangers should offload Alfredo Morelos this summer, urging the Ibrox club to “kick him out” given his “sloppy” standards regarding his fitness and attitude at the moment.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst left him out of the 23-man travelling squad to take on PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night. With the aggregate score reading 2-2, Rangers defied the odds to win the second leg 1-0. Antonio Colak got the goal.

It sees Rangers qualify for the Champions League group stages. Morelos, meanwhile, has gone from the main Rangers man, to only being used as a substitute this season. Indeed, all four of his appearances have come from the bench.

Chris Sutton said that van Bronckhorst’s decision to leave him out was “totally vindicated”. With his contract expiring at the end of the season, outspoken pundit Jordan thinks Rangers should “kick him out”. Citing, his “sloppy” standards.

“You’ve got this sloppy centre-forward, I think you kick him out – but I think you don’t kick him out as an owner, but you want the manager to tell him he wants to kick him out. Something good will come from that for Rangers.”

Reports this summer, albeit earlier on in the window, say that West Ham, Aston Villa and Newcastle have shown interest in the Colombia international. Another report states that Rangers want £11million for Morelos to depart.

The chances of Rangers making that kind of cash for Morelos, given the recent incidents, looks unlikely. Especially, as he is unlikely to sign a new deal and Rangers have a week to bring in a cash figure for his services.

Newcastle are about to sign Alexander Isak, West Ham have landed themselves Gianluca Scamacca. But if a potential reunion with Steven Gerrard is on the cards, the manager that got the best out of Morelos, it suits all parties.
