Ki Sung-yueng joined Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old central midfielder moved to Newcastle on a free transfer in the summer following his departure from Swansea at the end of last season.
Much was expected of the South Korea international when he arrived at St. James’ Park, but the former Celtic star has struggled to establish himself as a regular in manager Rafael Benitez’s starting lineup.
The 29-year-old has played just 233 minutes in the Premier League for the Magpies so far this season, providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
Ki, though, has suggested that he does not regret joining Newcastle, making the comments following his impressive performance against Watford at St. James’ Park in the Premier League at the weekend.

“The manager must like me now!” Ki told The Sun. “It was his decision not to play me much and maybe there were things that he didn’t like about my game.
“I’m not saying he didn’t like me but clearly he wasn’t satisfied with what I was showing. But I was never worried I made the wrong move.
“I always had faith in my own qualities. Now the manager can see how I can help the team and I have to maintain it.”
Important player
Ki showed against Watford what he is capable of, and the South Korea international will be an important player for Newcastle as the season progresses.
