Khamzat Chimaev isn’t exactly thrilled with Arman Tsarukyan’s decision to take on a series of wrestling matches lately.

Chimaev, who is also the UFC middleweight champion, has been a key figure in Tsarukyan’s camp, having cornered him during his fight against Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar. As he prepares for his upcoming title defence in California, the two have linked back up again.

But Chimaev hasn’t been all that impressed with Tsarukyan’s busy schedule outside of the octagon.

Tsarukyan has picked up wins over Georgio Poullas twice and handled Lance Palmer in RAF Wrestling. He also submitted Muhammad Mokaev during a Hype FC grappling event.

While training in California, Khamzat Chimaev and Arman Tsarukyan have been spending time at the Treigning Lab. In a recent video, the two were seen playfully arguing during a phone call as Chimaev worked out.

“Hey, sleeping machine where are you?” Chimaev asked Tsarukyan over the phone, before telling him to “Go back to Jake Paul’s gym” because he preferred influencers over what he called “real wrestlers.”

The Treigning Lab garage is well known for its tough training sessions. Chimaev joked that there was “no more garage anymore” for Tsarukyan because of his choice of opponents and lifestyle.

When Tsarukyan replied that he didn’t need the garage because no one had matched his record, Chimaev pointed out that he used all that training just to compete against lighter fighters. He even joked that Muhammad Mokaev, whom Tsarukyan choked out, weighed just 40kg or 88lb.

Tsarukyan responded by saying it was influencers and smaller fighters who wanted to face him. The pair continued their light-hearted exchange, with Chimaev joking about the weight gap between him and Mokaev.
