Everton are yet to replace the sacking of Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park.
Richard Keys has told Everton fans on Twitter that he believes Sam Allardyce is the “perfect” manager for the Toffees, reiterating his belief that Allardyce will be a hit at Goodison Park.
Sky Sports claim Everton are set to appoint the 63-year-old as Ronald Koeman’s successor after first sacking the Dutchman back in October, thanks to a breakthrough in talks with former England boss Allardyce.
Well-known presenter Keys has previously claimed on his blog that Allardyce would “fit the bill” on Merseyside, as well as stating Watford manager Marco Silva would also be a strong appointment by the Toffees.
Now, with Allardyce increasingly likely to take on the role in the Everton dugout, Keys took to Twitter to describe the match-up of “Big Sam” and Everton as “perfect”.
Everton sit way down in 17th place and just two points above the relegation zone under interim manager David Unsworth, after he ruled himself out of the job by losing five of his seven games in charge.
He is now expected to take charge of his last game for Everton as caretaker boss, as the Toffees play host to one of Allardyce’s former sides West Ham at Goodison Park on Wednesday night in the Premier League.
Three points and just a fourth league win of the season could see the Merseyside club climb to 14th in the Premier League, if Stoke City and Bournemouth drop points.
