Andy Gray and Richard Keys have tipped West Ham United to sign Craig Dawson on a permanent basis this summer.

The 30-year-old defender has proven a revelation since joining the Hammers on loan from Watford.

He was offered to West Ham for £3 million during the January transfer window but the Irons instead elected to make Said Benrahma’s move to East London a permanent one.

But based on this form, the former West Brom centre-back will count himself unlucky if David Moyes doesn’t seek to sign him up for the long term this summer.

At least, that’s what the BeIN Sports duo believe.

Keys said: “They bought Benrahma. They haven’t yet turned Dawson into a full-time signing but I’m sure they will.”

Gray added: “He’s a centre-back. He looks a fit kid so would you give him another 12 months after this? You bet you would. He’s the right sort as well.”

The 30-year-old has only managed eight Premier League games this season due to injury, having originally joined Moyes’s side in October.

But what an impact he has had this month and Keys and Gray are right – if he maintains this form for the rest of the season then there’s little doubt that West Ham will do everything they can to keep him.
