Wolves midfielder Dave Edwards spoke to the Express & Star and talked up the long-term potential that his side have, and shared how he strongly believes his side will be in the Premier League within four years, with the help of their patient owners.
Paul Lambert’s men are deeply involved in a relegation battle at the moment, despite improved performances on the whole over the past month or so, and sit precariously in 19th position in the Championship table, just five points clear of 22nd placed Wigan Athletic.
Edwards spoke to the Express & Star, and whilst admitting that his side are involved in a relegation scrap, he expressed his excitement at what the future holds for Wolves:
“I’ve said before I’m adamant – and yes we’ve got a lot of work to do this year to make sure we get out of trouble – the owners aren’t going to be here for one or two years. With what they’re trying to do, and their success in other areas, I’m sure this club will be in the Premier League in the next three or four years. Hopefully I’m around to see it happen. Everything is in place now apart from the consistency on the pitch. That’s down to us.”

The 31-year-old Wales international has been superb for Wolves so far this term, scoring nine goals and chipping in with two assists in 29 Championship outings.
The Black Country outfit face a huge derby game on Friday night, at home against Birmingham City, and with Gianfranco Zola’s men also deeply embroiled in relegation trouble, a win for Lambert’s side could prove to be of vital importance come the end of the season.
Three points for Wolves would see them move to within two points of their Midlands rivals in the table, and give them that little bit extra breathing space over those below them in the table.
