Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is set to miss up to a month of action after suffering a broken hand on Wednesday evening.
Leicester City will be without Kasper Schmeichel for up to a month after the goalkeeper suffered a broken hand in the goalless draw with Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, according to BBC Sport.
Schmeichel actually continued for more than an hour after injuring his hand by punching away a cross, but he now faces a spell on the side-lines.
Leicester picked up a point in Copenhagen to strengthen their hopes of featuring in the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Foxes are yet to concede against Europe’s elit and Schmeichel will have felt right at home protecting that statistic last night, Copenhagen’s home ground is just minutes from his family home.
The Danish stopper was key to Leicester’s success last season and he has shown his form this season as the Foxes struggle to hit the heights of last term.

Schmeichel has made the third most saves in the Premier League this season (34), behind only Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford (36) and Burnley’s Tom Heaton (59).
A concerning statistic for Leicester’s defence perhaps, but a fine example of just how important Schmeichel is for Leicester.
The 29-year-old is set to miss a set of important games, including the Champions League fixture against Club Brugge, as well as Premier League clashes against West Brom and Watford, among others.
The former Leeds keeper was one of the biggest heroes in Leicester’s title winning campaign and they’ll certainly miss him as they attempt to climb the Premier League table – The Champions are currently 11th.

Summer signing Ron-Robert Zieler will likely step in to replace Schmeichel having already featured in three Premier League fixtures this season.
Zieler represented the Foxes in wins over Swansea and Burnley, as well as a 4-1 loss to Manchester United, he managed one clean sheet in the three games.
The former Hannover keeper will have to be in fine form as he looks to give Ranieri a dilemma when Schmeichel returns to fitness.
