Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers need to take a cue from Celtic and find players who can “rip the league to bits”, according to a former player.

Former Rangers man Kevin Thomson has told The Glasgow Evening Times that his old side need to find players as influential for the Gers as Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele were for arch-rivals Celtic last season.
Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has already added Bruno Alves and Ryan Jack to his ranks this week and a number of others are expected to follow the duo to Ibrox over the coming days.
Those on the blue half of the Old Firm divide will be desperate for a better season next time around after their side finished a disappointing 39 points behind Celtic, who won the treble and did not lose a Scottish Premiership game.

Sinclair and Dembele, inspired signings by manager Brendan Rodgers last summer, netted over 50 goals between them in all competitions, playing a huge role in the Hoops’ phenomenal campaign.
And Thomson, who spent three years at Ibrox, says that Rangers need similar players who can “rip the league to bits” for Caixinha’s side next term.
“That is the challenge for Rangers in respect of whoever they bring in they need to be players that are capable of producing on a Saturday and come the end of the season be up for the awards. That is the kind of standard of player they need to catch up,” he told The GET.

“That is the challenge. I am not saying he can get good players in. They might have good seasons and just fall short.
“When you put into context Dembele and Sinclair, they came in and ripped the league to bits.
“That is going to be the challenge for Rangers and they need players capable of competing with boys like that.”
