Kevin Thomson returned to Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers in a coaching capacity.

Kevin Thomson has admitted to The Glasgow Evening Times that he was taken aback by Steven Gerrard’s willingness to help him in his coaching career at Rangers.
The former Rangers midfielder returned to Auchenhowie as a coach, after starting up his own academy.
The 34-year-old, who spent three years at Ibrox until 2010, is working with the light Blues’ Under-18 side.
Gerrard is also a relative newcomer on the coaching scene and has just completed his first year in senior management, guiding Rangers into the Europa League group stages last term.
And the Liverpool icon has told Thomson that his ‘door is always open’ for a chat on the subject.
“The best thing that the manager said to me is that it is open door here and that we are all learning,” Thomson told The Glasgow Evening Times. “It was brilliant to hear a world class player, an icon of the game and someone that played at the very top say that.”
Gerrard’s first year in management was a success, even if it didn’t yield a trophy.
Getting the club back into the group stages of a European competition was a massive step in the right direction and although Rangers could be accused of stagnating since, it was still a hugely encouraging first year.
Despite his inexperience, Gerrard will be under pressure this time next year if he hasn’t won anything but, given his character, he will be equal to the challenge of delivering silverware.
