Rangers managed to bring midfielder Lassana Coulibaly to Ibrox this summer.

Rangers youth coach Kevin Thomson has told STV that he thinks midfielder Lassana Coulibaly ‘looks a real star’ after an impressive opening to his Ibrox career.
The Gers brought in 15 new signings over the summer to boost Steven Gerrard’s squad, with strong focus placed on British signings who know all about Rangers.
However, Rangers did also branch out into foreign markets, bringing in the likes of Borna Barisic and Nikola Katic from Croatia as well as Umar Sadiq from Italy.
Another signing came from France in Angers midfielder Coulibaly, who arrived on a season-long loan deal with little fanfare having been a fringe player in Ligue 1 last season.
Coulibaly, 22, is a Mali international who has only made five appearances for Rangers, but he has already become something of a fan favourite at Ibrox.
The midfielder starred in Gerrard’s midfield before suffering an injury, but he has earned huge praise from supporters for his relentless work rate in the middle of the park.

Fans can’t wait for Coulibaly to return to full fitness after the international break, and he has now been hailed by Rangers youth coach Thomson, a former Ibrox midfielder himself.
Thomson has told STV that, if Coulibaly can stay fit, he can be a key part of the Rangers midfield, and suggests that he ‘looks a real star’ – and Rangers fans will no doubt agree with that.
“Coulibaly looks a real star, the manager will be disappointed he’s lost him through fitness but if he can keep him fit, it bodes well for engine room,” said Thomson.
