Kevin Prince-Boateng says he was too young to handle his spell at Tottenham Hotspur.
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Kevin Prince-Boateng has been reflecting on his failed spell at the club a decade ago.
The Ghanaian signed for Spurs in 2007 with high hopes, but failed to establish himself at the club and was sold to Portsmouth.
Despite this he went onto establish himself as the famous midfielder he was touted to be, starring at World Cup tournaments and featuring for AC Milan and Schalke.

Speaking to The Mail, he admits he was not grounded enough to make it work in Tottenham, and says he was told after just one month that he had no future at the club.
He said: “Jol told me after a month that he didn’t want me. So it felt like me against the world; you know that feeling when you shut-off?’
“I had a lot of money for a 20-year-old. I thought: Okay so you don’t want me, I will enjoy my life. I went out night-clubbing. And then of course you can’t perform.
“You end up trying to buy happiness. I bought a Lamborghini. Wow! I was happy for a week. After that I didn’t even use the car. Who drives around Loughton in a Lamborghini?’”

Prince-Boateng is currently playing for La Liga side Las Palmas, switching after his contract at AC Milan ended last summer.
Even at 29 he has a lot of work to do to show he has not peaked already, but he certainly bounced back after his disappointing Spurs spell, and appears to be far more focused off the field, and says he wants to work as an advisor after his playing days to help young players avoid the same pitfalls he did.
