Kevin Phillips surely won't get Sunderland job, after latest news breaks

According to a report in the Sunderland Echo, Sunderland chief executive Martin Bain wants a manager with experience to take charge at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland are stepping up their search for Simon Grayon’s successor now, as they begin interviewing for their vacant managerial process.

It has been over two weeks since Sunderland parted ways with Simon Grayson, and plenty of names have been linked to the post with the Wearsiders.

Kevin Phillips is one of the managers to have been named as a potential candidate to take over at Sunderland, as he looks to take his first step into management.
