Former Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal stars find themselves in Sunderland great Kevin Phillips’s Perfect XI.
Former Sunderland and Aston Villa striker Kevin Phillips has picked Jamie Redknapp and Michael Gray in his Perfect XI, as reported by the FourFourTwo Magazine.
The 41-year-old played with a number of top players during his eventful career, and he has compiled a team comprising of 11 of his best former teammates.
This is what Phillips’s starting line-up looks like:
Joe Hart
Stephen Carr – Martin Keown – Steve Bould – Michael Gray
David Beckham – Paul Scholes – Jamie Redknapp – Nicky Summerbee
Alan Shearer – Niall Quinn
Not many of the names will come as a surprise, although some Leeds United fans will wonder why Phillips included Michael Gray in his team.
Gray played on loan for the West Yorkshire outfit from Sunderland on two separate occasions, but he could not really make a huge impact.
While Jamie Redknapp is better known for playing for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, it seems that the former England international did enough at Southampton to impress his then teammate Phillips.
The likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Martin Keown and Alan Shearer pick themselves – no surprises there!
