Sunderland are said to be considering appointing Kevin Phillips to replace Chris Coleman.

According to The Sun, Sunderland want Kevin Phillips to be their next manager.
Sunderland parted company with Chris Coleman in a shock move earlier this week.
And Phillips’ past comments about the Sunderland job suggest that he would be delighted to take charge at the Stadium of Light.
Phillips was linked to Sunderland back in 2017, before the Wearsiders appointed Simon Grayson.
And he said to the Chronicle: “I would love to come back to Sunderland as manager one day.
“I think everyone knows that Sunderland is a club close to my heart, and I loved my six years up there.

“But the timing would have to be right. I’ve been coaching at Leicester City and Derby since I stopped playing, and there has been a lot to learn.
“It would be a big challenge to take on.”

The scale of the challenge for Phillips at Sunderland is arguably even bigger now than it was last season.
The Black Cats have dropped into League One, and are expected to lose large volumes of their current squad over the summer.
Sunderland will have to deal with a vast amount of player turnover, as they look to earn promotion straight back to the Championship.
Phillips still has no managerial experience, with the ex-Sunderland striker currently working as assistant boss to Gary Rowett at Derby County.
