West Bromwich Albion are amazingly still in with a shout of avoiding the drop this season.

Kevin Phillips offered an apology to West Brom and their fans, when writing his regular column for the Express & Star, after writing Darren Moore’s side off a few weeks ago.
The Baggies have been quite simply sensational since Moore took over at the Hawthorns, winning three and drawing two of the five games they have played under the 44-year-old.

A lot still needs to happen for them to have any chance whatsoever of surviving this season, but they have at least given themselves a chance – something that didn’t seem possible before Moore took over.
Phillips was one of the many who had written West Brom off, and he offered an apology to Moore’s men and the Baggies faithful, when writing his regular column for the Express & Star:

“I have to apologise that I wrote Albion off four or five weeks ago. Since Darren has taken charge it looks like Albion can play and the players are certainly playing for the manager. I think what will be the biggest disappointment for the Albion crowd is why couldn’t the team do this throughout the season. They could possibly go down going in midweek if Swansea or Southampton win. But if that doesn’t happen they will have the opportunity to survive next week if they win and results go their way.”
Whatever happens elsewhere, West Brom must beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of avoiding the drop.
Even if they do eventually go down, though, they will at least head into next term full of confidence, after finishing this season in such superb form.
