Former Premier League footballer Kevin Nolan has questioned comments made by struggling Swansea City boss Bob Bradley.
Everton’s Seamus Coleman denies Swansea a first win in 11
A late goal from Everton full back Seamus Coleman denied Swansea a first victory under American Bradley in a 1-1 draw as their miserable winless run stretched to 11 games.
The Swans’ star man Gylfi Sigurdsson had put the visitors ahead at Goodison Park with a penalty in the 41st minute.
But Coleman scored a minute from time as Swansea slipped to bottom of the Premier League having not won in the league since the opening day of the season.
Swansea City manager Bob Bradley
It means Bradley has made the worst start by a Swansea manager in the Premier League, going five games without a win.
And former West Ham United and Newcastle United star Kevin Nolan has questioned Bradley’s approach on talkSPORT.
“I read a bit in the paper that Bob Bradley has had a go at his midfielder Ki (Sung-yueng) because he said they are in struggling form,” Nolan told Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast.
Critical: Kevin Nolan
“And he’s sort of hit back Bob Bradley saying ‘Well no, you’re struggling as a player that’s why we’re struggling’. So that’s an interesting one,” Nolan said in a tone questioning the wisdom of Bradley’s public criticism of his player in the thick of a relegation battle.
Jose Mourinho has recently come under fire for similar behaviour at Manchester United with public criticism of the likes of Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling.
Bradley is under pressure
Although Bradley thinks he is on the same level as the likes of Mourinho, Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti – as reported by the Mirror – it is one thing doing it having filled trophy cabinets across Europe and another thing entirely having taken over a side looking odds on for relegation.
The Swans face some six-pointers in the next month with home games against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace, Sunderland and West Ham.
But Bradley will need all of his players on board if they are to get anything out of them.
