Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in doing a deal for Everton’s Ross Barkley.

Kevin Nolan has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 15th December, that he believes Everton’s midfielder Ross Barkley would move to Tottenham Hotspur in January, if Mauricio Pochettino’s side make a move.

The London Evening Standard report that Tottenham are interested in signing the England international at the next opportunity.

And Nolan feels that Spurs would have a chance of snapping up the 23-year-old, as Ronald Koeman would be open to a deal.

“I think if he gets the chance to go to Tottenham, Ronald would agree the deal and I think Ross would go,” Nolan said about the Everton talent. “It would be a positive move for him.”

Barkley has endured a difficult season at Everton so far, and he has failed to hold down his starting place.

Barkley has been rather inconsistent, and there is a feeling that Koeman has some doubts about his ability.

Koeman has been publicly critical of Barkley on numerous occasions, leading to some doubts over the youngster’s future at Goodison Park.

If Tottenham did move for Barkley, he would be competing with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli for a place in Mauricio Pochettino’s line-up at White Hart Lane.
