Wayne Rooney re-signed for Everton this summer, 13 years after leaving Goodison Park.
Kevin Mirallas has told The Liverpool Echo he was “so happy” when he heard that Wayne Rooney joined Everton.
The 31-year-old legend re-signed for his boyhood club this month after 13 trophy-laden years with Manchester United, where he left as the club’s all-time record goalscorer.
Rooney picked up where he left off at Everton, scoring a long-range stunner just 35 minutes into his second debut with the Toffees.

It was a goal which Mirallas says typifies the England international, and the Belgium winger simply cannot wait to play alongside his new team-mate next season.
“You could see it was a difficult game for him to start off but then, there is was – one chance, one goal. You need a player who can do that,” he told The Liverpool Echo.
“I was with my family and I saw the news. I was so happy. My brother Cedric rang me and said “you’re going to play with Wayne? You are so lucky!’
“I just said: “I know, thank you!”
Rooney re-joined Everton for free but manager Ronald Koeman has spent over £100 million on players so far this summer.
He is obviously a huge name, but it is clear that the Dutchman has big plans for next season and if their former academy product does not pull his weight then Koeman won’t hesitate to drop him.
