Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers brought Declan John to Ibrox on a season-long loan from Cardiff City on transfer deadline day.

Scottish Premiership side Rangers secured the services of John from Championship club Cardiff in England on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day.
The 22-year-old has not featured for the Bluebirds this season and was going to struggle for playing time at the Cardiff City Stadium in 2017-18.
The Wales international is a very talented and promising young player who could prove to be a great signing for Pedro Caixinha’s Rangers.

John is in the final year of his contract at Cardiff, who are aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season.
McNaughton played with John at Cardiff, and the 35-year-old former Wigan Athletic defender has explained how the Gers can get the best out of the youngster.

“Declan’s a boy who needs his confidence bolstered, he’s a quiet kid who needs an arm around him and to be encouraged to push on,” McNaughton told The Daily Record.
“He maybe needs that bit of help to get back to where he was a few years ago. Maybe he hasn’t been getting that recently and that’s a factor in why it hasn’t been happening for him.”
Rangers have not made a good start to the 2017-18 Scottish Premiership and could struggle to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the league title.
The Ibrox outfit are fifth in the league table at the moment with seven points from four matches.
Meanwhile, John has outlined his playing style, and has been quoted as saying by The Daily Mail: “From the games I’ve seen, it’s quite intense and quite lively in Scotland. I think I have just got to stick to what I know and what I’m good at, and hopefully I can do well.
“First and foremost, I like to go forward and I think that’s my best attribute. I like to get crosses into the box and hopefully set up a few goals if not scoring myself.”
