Dedryck Boyata is out of contract with Celtic this summer.

Kevin Kyle has told Open Goal that he can’t see former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers taking Dedryck Boyata to Leicester City this summer.
Boyata, who earns £14,000 per week at Parkhead [Daily Star], is out of contract at Celtic in June and is expected to leave the Scottish giants on a Bosman.
Rodgers sensationally quit the Hoops to become Leicester’s new manager last week.
It seems possible that the Northern Irishman could raid his former club for players during the summer transfer window.
But ex-Scotland striker Kyle claimed to Open Goal that Rodgers ‘would be a brave man’ to bring Boyata to The King Power, saying he has ‘no chance’ of being Premier League quality.
He said: “He’d be a brave man to come back and take Boyata! Could he play in the Premier League? No chance.”
Celtic turned down a £9 million offer from top-flight club Fulham toward the end of last summer’s transfer window [The Times].
Boyata, who enjoyed an excellent World Cup campaign with Belgium last summer, joined the Premiership club in 2015 after failing to make the grade at Manchester City.
He is clearly a good centre-back, but the Premier League is on another level to Scotland’s top tier in regards to standard, so it certainly would be a risk for Rodgers to sign him.
