Liverpool reportedly wanted to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe in 2017.

The former Everton star made the comments when asked if Mbappe would be a good signing for Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old is one of the best forwards in the world and could become a legend of the game if he continues to progress the way he has over the past few years.
The Telegraph recently reported that Liverpool tried to sign Mbappe in 2017, but the Reds failed to bring the France international forward to Anfield.
Kilbane said on Off The Ball when asked about Mbappe to Liverpool: “I don’t think they will go for him. The only reason why, you get Kylian Mbappe, you probably have to give him 300 grand a week, which is probably around double the wages Van Dijk is on.
“Why are Liveprool going to upset the club and bring a player in on almost double of what the rest of the players are on? I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

Blockbuster signing for Liverpool
PSG are a massive club and have a global following, and Mbappe does not really have a reason to leave the French giants.
After all, PSG regularly won Ligue 1 and compete in the Champions League, and the 20-year-old is a key figure in the team.
The Frenchman, though, would be a blockbuster signing for Liverpool, and the 20-year-old will certainly make the Reds’ attacking unit more frightening than they already are at the moment.
