Celtic midfielder Eboue Kouassi was identified as a weak link in the Hoops’ Europa League defeat last month, says Kevin Kampl.

Kevin Kampl has said via The Daily Mail that Celtic midfielder Eboue Kouassi was targeted by Leipzig in last month’s Europa League win over the Hoops.
Celtic host their Bundesliga counterparts at Parkhead tomorrow, knowing that anything but a win will see them eliminated from the competition.
Brendan Rodgers’s side lost 2-0 in Germany last time around, and Kampl, as quoted by The Daily Mail, says that the Ivorian midfielder was a weak link for the Scots on that occasion.
He said: “Celtic’s No 88 was open too many times. We changed our formation so Bruma could play as a No 10 and close him down.
“From that point, I think everything was good in our game. We created good chances and we should have scored one or two more goals.”
It was a massive night for Kouassi, who joined Celtic for £3 million almost two years ago.
The 20-year-old was given the nod to start ahead of the injured Scott Brown and, frankly, he failed to do much of a job.
The former Krasnodar star will play no part in Thursday’s reverse fixture, or indeed any other game this season after suffering a knee injury which has brought his 2018-19 campaign to a premature end.
Time will tell whether Brown, who hasn’t played since October 20 due to a calf strain, is fit for tomorrow’s clash, but it seems likely that Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor continue in central midfield.
