Manchester City are through to yet another Carabao Cup final after beating Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

City were the better side throughout, but had to wait for their second half opener as John Stones scored from a Phil Foden free kick.

Fernandinho wrapped up the win with a fine drive from the edge of the box, after United had failed to deal with a City corner.

The win sends City into the final against Tottenham Hotspur in April, as Pep Guardiola once again locks horns with Jose Mourinho – a manager who beat him twice in 2020.

For now though, City will be celebrating their win, and they are ultimately pretty familiar with the feeling of reaching the League Cup final.

City have won the last three finals and five of the last seven finals, meaning they’ve become League Cup specialists in recent times.

This season’s final doesn’t take place until April, but Kevin De Bruyne summed up his thoughts after full time on Wednesday night.

De Bruyne took to Twitter to post just four words, stating ‘Tickets to London, please’ as he celebrated reaching another final – and rather than talk about bragging rights over United, his focus was purely on picking up another trophy at Wembley Stadium.
