Kevin de Bruyne has told The Mail he is not concerned by playing at Tottenham’s new stadium.

City take on Spurs in the Champions League this week, in only the second competitive game at the ground.

Spurs are hoping their supporters will create a raucous atmosphere which will help gain an advantage over City.

De Bruyne is not concerned about the stadium being a factor in the tie.

He said: “Everybody talks about the stadium like it’s something special,’ De Bruyne said. ‘Everybody has a stadium. Everybody has supporters.

“I don’t care about the stadium. I care about the team we play. They’ll be up for it. I don’t think there will be any difference.

“They’ll probably be a little bit more excited but in the end it’s a stadium with supporters. If they go to Wembley with 80,000 or there with 62,000, it’s going to be the same. It’ll be a tough game but I think we’ll be all right.”

One advantage Spurs have is that a change of scene could yield different results.

City won twice against them at Wembley in the Premier League, including earlier this season. Guardiola’s side also won at Wembley just days ago in the FA Cup semi-final, and won the EFL Cup there last season.

Tottenham’s new ground is not so familiar and could throw them off a bit.

As much as De Bruyne says he isn’t bothered, he may feel differently once he arrives and the build up to kick off approaches.
