Former Everton and Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell is calling for billionaire Alisher Usmanov to invest in The Toffees.

The Financial Times report Usmanov is considering selling his 30 per cent stake in Arsenal after discussions with majority shareholder Stan Kroenke.

For years Usmanov has tried to gain more power in Arsenal’s boardroom but his efforts have been blocked, with Kroenke refusing a £525 million offer for total control last year.

Usmanov is friends with Everton owner Farhad Moshiri, with their business links going back more than a decade together.

Kevin Campbell says he would like to see Usmanov put his wealth towards Everton so he could team up with Moshiri.

Usmanov has always maintained he is an Arsenal fan and it is unclear if he has the desire to invest in another club.

If he did put his money into Everton then Arsenal may go onto regret missing an opportunity, with the ambitious Toffees already spending big money in an attempt to catch up with the Gunners.
