Tottenham Hotspur managed to secure a drama-filled point against Manchester City on Saturday evening.
Trevor Sinclair and Kevin Campbell weren’t too pleased with VAR’s decision to rule out Manchester City’s late winner against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening at the Etihad Stadium.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side secured a 2-2 draw against the Premier League champions, who in stoppage time, thought they had won the game through Gabriel Jesus’ strike.
However, VAR, which has caused many talking points since its introduction this season, ruled the low strike out because of a handball prior to the goal being scored.
As the controversy unfolded, former QPR man Sinclair, in particular, was pretty angry at the decision being made, as ex-Arsenal striker Campbell also shared his thoughts on his personal Twitter account.
In the game itself, Spurs battled hard for a point, but Mauricio Pochettino will be well aware that his team can perform a lot better.
However, despite not being at their best, Tottenham still managed to record a point against the dominant champions of England.
In-form Raheem Sterling had given City the lead, but Eric Lamela equalised not long after before the ever-impressive Sergio Aguero netted to put his team ahead in the second half. But seconds after coming on, Lucas Moura headed home from a corner to ensure the North London club left Manchester with a point to their name.
