Kevin Campbell has intimated on Twitter that Mesut Ozil might be finished at Arsenal following his latest snub.

The Gunners got their season back underway last night with a 3-0 defeat away at Manchester City.

Eyebrows were raised prior to kickoff when it was announced that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta had omitted their star playmaker from om the first XI.

Not only that, but Ozil was left out of the 20-man squad entirely, prompting fresh doubts over his future in North London.

Arteta has only been the club’s head coach for seven months but has already established himself as something of a disciplinarian.

And here’s how former Arsenal hitman Campbell reacted to the snub on Twitter:

So, is Ozil finished? Probably not.

It’s a fairly frequent occurance that we’re left asking if the former Germany star has a future at Arsenal and he invariably bounces back.

It remains to be seen exactly why Arteta – who confirmed that he wasn’t injured – left him out, and it could simply be a message that he needs to work harder in training.

Either way, last night proved that Arsenal could do with his creativity and that’s exactly why he keeps getting second chances.
