Kevin Campbell has said on Stadium Astro that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta should sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if he is not fully committed to the club.

The former Arsenal striker believes that if Aubameyang is not buying into how Arteta’s wants to play and his vision, then Arsenal should sell him in the summer transfer window.

The Englishman made the comments about the Gabon international striker after the match against Newcastle United on Sunday.

The 31-year-old striker returned to the Arsenal starting lineup following his recovery from illness and scored in the second half at St. James’ Park to help his side to a 2-0 win.

Campbell said on Stadium Astro: “If Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not fully committed to Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has to sell him. I don’t want him to go, but that’s if he is not fully committed to the regime of what Mikel Arteta is looking to do at Arsenal.”

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s struggles

Aubameyang is having a disappointing season. The former Borussia Dortmund striker is struggling to score goals, and at times Arsenal have played better without him in the team.

According to WhoScored, the 31-year-old striker has scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 23 Premier League starts and has scored three goals and given one assist in four Europa League starts for Arsenal this season.

The striker signed a new contract only last summer, and his disappointing form since then has been perplexing.

There was also the controversial situation where Arteta dropped the striker from the team in the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur for reportedly coming late.

Aubameyang remains one of the best strikers in the Premier League. The 31-year-old is probably just having a bad season, and it is very likely that he will be back to his best in 2021-22.
