Kevin Campbell has lauded Fabio Vieira for his early season form at Arsenal after he was ‘frowned upon by many’ during his debut campaign under Mikel Arteta.
Vieira against Fulham and Manchester United
Any player arriving at Arsenal with the surname ‘Vieira’ is always going to find that he will be referenced back to a certain midfield destroyer from Senegal.
Thankfully for Fabio Vieira, he is a very different player to Patrick, but that didn’t stop fans piling on their £34 million signing (Sky Sports) last season for his performances.
But Campbell was sure to balance it all out on Twitter recently because, whilst it’s easy handing out the criticism, he was sure to give the quick-footed playmaker flowers his early season performances.
In back-to-back matches, the 23-year-old has come off the bench and provided an assist for his side. Winning the penalty against Fulham and then his pass to Gabriel Jesus against Manchester United.
That’s high-quality stuff from the Portugal star and Campbell is sure loving it, as he shared on his socials.

“Vieira at Arsenal was frowned upon by many last season,” said Campbell.
“Yet, he’s starting to find his feet and becoming a difference-maker. Great pass to Jesus, early and in his stride.”
Should Vieira be starting for Mikel Arteta?
A certain Kai Havertz isn’t having the best of times, Michael Owen was left shocked by his actions from the weekend.
But, in terms of form and impact, Vieira deserves to ask Mikel Arteta that question because he is ever so close to that starting XI.
And even if Arteta opts with his current XI, then it’s another chance for Vieira to come off the bench and prove his worth.
