Goalkeeper Joe Hilton has signed new deal at Everton.

Hull City manager Marco Silva reacts during the Premier League match between Hull City and Sunderland at KCOM Stadium on May 6, 2017 in Hull, England.

Former Everton captain Kevin Campbell has described Joe Hilton as a “very impressive goalkeeper” after the teenage star signed a new two-year deal at Goodison Park.

Hilton, 18, signed a new two-year contract after impressing at Everton since moving to Merseyside from Premier League champions Manchester City back in 2016.

The 6ft 4in colossus has appeared for both Everton’s first team and reserve sides since moving to The Toffees, and is currently training with the first team as Jordan Pickford is given a break and Joel Robles has left for Real Betis.

He is currently in training alongside Maarten Stekelenburg and Mateusz Hewelt, and Campbell was delighted to see the youngster sign a new deal that will see him remain at Everton until the summer of 2020.

Hilton is just one of a long list of Everton youngsters to sign new deals in recent times, including the likes of Matty Foulds, Fraser Hornby and Jack Kiersey all putting pen to paper.

It remains to be seen if Hilton will be given a chance by Marco Silva during the 2018-19 campaign, with plenty of competition ahead of the colossus. But with the renewed belief of a contract, Hilton is going the right way.
